About The Quilter's Lodge

The Quilter’s Lodge is the most self-contained retreat in the state, and the reason is simple arithmetic: ten guest rooms, multiple classrooms, a longarm studio and a quilt shop holding around 3,500 bolts, all under one roof.

That last part changes how a retreat runs. Everywhere else, running short of a background fabric on Saturday afternoon means someone loses two hours to a drive. Here it means going downstairs. For a group working from kits or a block-of-the-month, that alone is worth a good deal.

The longarm studio is the other differentiator. Very few retreat venues anywhere let you finish a quilt rather than merely piece a top, and being able to load something onto a longarm at the end of a weekend — with help on hand — is a genuinely different proposition.

Ten rooms also means this suits a larger group than most Utah retreats, which tend to be built around six or eight. A guild chapter could take the place over.

Draper sits at the south end of the Salt Lake valley, minutes from Sandy and its four shops — including two a short walk apart on Main Street — so there’s plenty within reach if the group fancies an outing. More on the area in Draper and Salt Lake County.

There's a fabric shop on site — see The Quilters Lodge for what it stocks and its opening hours.
