Quilting in Draper
Draper has a single entry in this directory, but it’s one of the most interesting in the state.
The Quilter’s Lodge is a proper quilt shop — roughly 3,500 bolts, patterns, notions, precut kits and block-of-the-month clubs — with a retreat center built around it. Ten guest rooms, multiple classrooms and a longarm studio, all under the same roof. For a group who’ve been meaning to organize a retreat for years, it removes most of the obstacles at once.
It also stays open until eight on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which almost nothing else in Utah does.
Making a day of it
Draper sits at the south end of the Salt Lake valley, minutes from Sandy and its four shops — two of them a short walk apart on Main Street. Riverton is close as well. Between the three towns you could fill a very comfortable day without much driving.
See Salt Lake County for the whole valley.
