Layton’s two entries are both sewing machine shops rather than fabric stores, which makes the town the practical stop in Davis County when something needs fixing.

Nuttall’s Sewing Center is the larger, part of a family business trading since 1963 and an authorised dealer for Bernina, Brother, Janome, Baby Lock and HandiQuilter. If you want to compare machines across brands rather than be shown one manufacturer’s range, few places in northern Utah let you do it in a single visit. Note that the shop has moved — older directories still list South Fairfield Road, and it’s now on North Harris Boulevard.

Imagine Sewing & Vacuum on Gentile Street handles machines and vacuums together. That address has been a sewing shop for years and appears in some older listings under the Wimmer’s name.
