Fabric stores in Delta, Utah

Delta sits out in Utah’s west desert, and Mom’s Crafts and Fabrics is the only fabric shop in Millard County. On a map of where Utah’s shops actually are, this is one of the loneliest pins.

As the name suggests it covers general crafts as well as fabric, which is usually how a shop survives in a town of three thousand — by being useful to everybody rather than specializing narrowly.

The phone number comes from the Utah Quilt Guild’s shop list and hasn’t been checked recently, and we don’t have current hours. Given the distances involved out here, a call before setting off matters more than usual. If you know the shop, we’d welcome a correction.

Making a day of it

Delta is the jumping-off point for the Topaz Museum and the Great Basin, and the Notch Peak drive west of town is spectacular if you have the right vehicle.
